Pharamasave PPC Campaign Skyrockets

August 18, 2010

Ps

We've been running a PPC campaign for our client in the Great White North - Pharmasave. It's great so show clients results like this (in the first month especially). Visits up 34%, pageviews up 30%, new visits up 13%, and search traffic up 265%! Good to see good old fashion PPC getting results. And it's funny that PPC is considered in the "old" category. That's how fast things move.

dib creative Supports Student-Run Ad Agency

May 05, 2010

Undierunlogo

Texas Tech students picked a client and have come up with a great marketing idea. That's cool. What's cooler is the fact they are actually making it happen.

The students have organized the 1st annual Undie Run - for a good cause. Lubbock’s first and only student-run advertising agency, Whipper Snapper Advertising, collaborated with two fellow Texas Tech students by putting together the first Annual Undie Run. This event will not only attempt to break the world record for largest organized run in undergarments but it will also benefit two non-profit organizations.

Simply by word of mouth and through social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter, this event has been the talk of the town. A Facebook group ‘1000 for a Texas Tech Undie Run’ was created to promote the race and within one hour, over 100 people have joined. As of date, there are currently 1,306 members supporting this race.

We support these students. It's a great idea, and a great example of brand advocates using the web to promote the brands they love.

dib Motion: The Virtual Studio

April 26, 2010

Greenpre1

Tri-Caster: this technology is a 3d virtual set environment which takes the old green screen techniques and allows us to bring life and dimension into productions. It utilizes up to 3 cameras and allows for talent to turn and interact with the set as if they were in a traditional studio. In addition, the technology allows us to pipe in live feeds via Skype, web cam, live phone, satellite and other locations just like a national news network.

We can also go portable, allowing dib Motion to broadcast events (corporate meetings, company outings, trade show events, etc) with a 3-camera switch, creating a product that outshines the single camera, no movement broadcasts of the past. Next time a company wants to record the annual sales meeting, the shareholders conference or a new product launch, this Tri-Caster technology can create incredible results in budgets that rival most one-man crews.

New Office Space: Efficiency over Ego

April 16, 2010

_mg_8514

The great dib creative office remodel is complete! Well, it’s complete, but we still need to unpack all of the boxes, figure out our décor, and get all these wires hidden. But still, the office is great and specially designed for efficiency. This is really based on our philosophy to work smarter, not harder. It’s the only way a small agency can survive and actually work on the projects we WANT to work on.

So, we got rid of all of our nice window offices and everyone works together in one area. We still have offices for phone calls and conference calls, but most of our space is open. Open for meetings. Open for discussions. Open to get things done. We’ve painted entire walls with dry erase boards that are visible to everyone so we all know what’s going on and can concentrate on the task at hand. Questions take two seconds not two minutes.

We also believe that interruption is the enemy of efficiency. We have limited desk space so papers don’t pile up and we can concentrate on the priority of the day. This also makes it easy to work remotely, which also makes everyone more efficient too.

So, no more window offices – just getting the job done.

TabbedOut Mobile App

January 15, 2010

Tabbedout_blog

dib creative has partnered with ATX Innovation to launch the Beta version of the TabbedOut iPhone application. TabbedOut enables users to pay bar and restaurant tabs via mobile devices. The preliminary test will include the Austin market, but plans are in place to launch new cities in the first quarter of 2010. Download it on iTunes. See the Austin Business Journal article: http://austin.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2009/12/21/story1.html?b=1261371600^2606551

We believe mobile technology will continue to revolutionize the way customers pay for products. Not only are mobile devices convenient for the buyer and seller, the ability to track purchases for loyalty and database marketing is invaluable. TabbedOut is one of many industries we believe will adapt this technology this year. The question will be how fast the customers adopt these methods, which has proved to be accelerating at an exponential rate.

dib at Texas Stampede

November 13, 2009

Texas-stampede

Nearly seven months ago, dib creative volunteered our creative time and resources to one of the great causes and events in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, The Tom Thumb Texas Stampede. The goal of Texas Stampede is to improve the quality of life for children and families served by the charitable programs and services at Children's Medical Center. Texas Stampede accomplishes this mission by hosting an annual high quality, professional rodeo and concert event in Dallas that exposes the community to western heritage and donating the monies raised beyond the operational costs to Children's Medical Center.

dib creative donated time and energy towards the creation of the "make every second count" campaign which includes print, video and interactive. Our goal was to bring recognition to the event and its cause. We look forward to seeing everyone at the show tonight. For ticket information to this weekend's rodeo and concerts featuring Pat Green and Lady Antebellum, visit http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/1ggt6z

Think Ink

October 28, 2009

Fashion-tattoo

The art continues to be popular world wide, and although some still consider it taboo, tattooing is growing in popularity as a widely accepted art form. No longer just for bikers and convicts, the prevalence of women in the tattoo industry, along with larger numbers of youth bearing tattoos, appears to be changing negative perceptions. With so many types of tattoos from cosmetic to decorative and spiritual, tattoos have experienced resurgence in popularity in many parts of the world. The growth in tattoo culture has seen an influx of new artists into the industry, many of whom have technical and fine arts training. Coupled with advancements in tattoo pigments and the ongoing refinement of the equipment used for tattooing, this has led to an improvement in the quality of tattoos being produced.

Dallas Boutiques, The Hottest of Hotels

October 20, 2009

Joule-hotel-nyt1

Boutique Hotels in Dallas are growing ever popular, especially in the downtown and uptown areas of the city where new boutique hotels are opening constantly. A popular hang out for travelers and locals alike who are looking to be near the nightlife. In fact, these trendy new hotels quite arguably are the nightlife, with chic inner beauty and aesthetic appeal raging from the intimate comforts at a plantation-style bed and breakfast at the Azalea, to a sophisticated concept hotel for the Lone Star crowds at the ZaZa. Each are designed with flair and excellence.

AT&T Performing Arts Center Grand Opening

October 12, 2009

Artsdisterict

With Starbucks in hand, a few dibbers braved the cold early morning to attend the Dedication Ceremony for the AT&T Performing Arts Center. City officials, mega-wealthy donors, media types, staff and performers from all of the resident companies and the entire design & construction crew turned out to witness this historic day for the City of Dallas. It really was pretty amazing to sit in the middle of Sammons Park in the heart of downtown Dallas, surrounded on all sides by beautiful buildings; the Winspear Opera House, Wyly Theatre, Meyerson Symphony Center and Booker T. Washington Arts Magnet High School. Finally, there is truly a pedestrian friendly district in Dallas where you can live, work, play, eat and be entertained in a few square blocks. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate what a monumental step this is in the right direction for Dallas!

License to Judge

September 11, 2009

Texas-license-plate

Say Hello to the new Texas License Plate. After beating out the competing options by an overwhelming margin, it's surprising that something as simple as a license plate design would cause such uproar. Even so, I have been hard pressed to find anyone who actually likes the new design. Since these plates first made their debut on the streets of Texas I have done my best to view them with an open mind, and understand that a change from familiarity can often times be difficult.

Taking the stance that less is more, it is hard for me to appreciate the aesthetics of this new license plate design. With highly saturated and overpowering colors, as well as the abstract representation of the Texas flag and mountain range, the overall all look comes across very busy and distracting. It competes with its associated vehicle, cheapening the overall look like a tacky bumper sticker.

Let's not forget the purpose of the license plate: to simply display information for official identification purposes. Unfortunately, it seems, this sentiment is lost upon The Texas Department of Transportation.
